El País – Join the Conversation
El País, the spanish newspaper with the highest circulation in country, has chosen illustrator and director Gregori Saavedra, to bring his unique style upon the daily headlines in this viral spot. I had the chance to join the team at velvet mediendesign as freelance Art Director in collaborating with Gregori and bringing his illustrations to life.
The outcome was well received, making all 3 creative teams in Barcelona, Munich and London proud and happy! The spot was selected finalist at the Creativepool Awards in 2016. My favorite scene is the subway and the transition into the stock exchange.

Process Images
Each animation is conceptually connected to the content. To match the content of the scenes I made use of various different animation techniques ranging from frame by frame animation in After Effects for the subway scene, to Cinema 4D's mograph module for the revealing of the dictator. We were working closely in an extensive and intense exchange with Gregori.
